It is the latest hot news that For her Fashion's Night Out extravaganza of Anna Wintour ,New York stores were jammed Thursday for Fashion's Night Out, where shoppers rubbed elbows with celebrities — sometimes quite literally.

Amateur photographers jockeyed with paparazzi to get pictures of Victoria Beckham and stood on banquettes to get a glimpse of "Top Chef" host Padma Lakshmi. The hope was that the event, a brainchild of Vogue Editor Anna Wintour, would help at the cash register during New York Fashion Week, which opened Thursday.
Poor Oscar de la Renta was reduced to performing a song and dance in his own store — accompanied by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Barbara Walters — to appease the queen.
And he wasn't the only one. Vogue's European editor at large Hamish Bowles belted out Noel Coward tunes at Juicy Couture. Alexa Joel sang the blues at Elie Tahari, too.
Bergdorf Goodman hosted a designer cookoff between Lela Rose, Peter Som and Cynthia Rowley (who made Jell-o shots much to the crowd's delight) while on another floor, Robert Verdi beat Donna Karan at a fashion trivia contest led by Vogue's Andre Leon Talley.
Is there anything the woman can't get her minions to do?
Nope. In Queens, where Anna appeared with Diane von Furstenberg, Kate Hudson and the mayor himself, Bloomberg recounted trying to turn her down when she first came up with the idea — but “lost totally.”
And if Anna had her way, he'd lose at something else, too. Waiting for Bloomie to arrive in a private room she fumed, “If he doesn't show, Diane and I will run for mayor on a joint ticket and take over the city.”
